Western Conference Playoffs:

1. Los Angeles Lakers

2. San Antonio Spurs

3. Portland Trailblazers

Breaking down the BlazersPart Five

The center position is one of the strongest spots on the Blazers roster. ; And if you combine last seasons stats for Joel Pryzbilla and Greg Oden the numbers look pretty good. 13.4 pts, 15.7 rbs, 2.3 bks. ; What team wouldn't be happy with that? ;

Last season began with the Trailblazers annointing Greg as their starter at the 5 spot. ; It was and up and down year for the youngster from Ohio State. ; He started 39 games for Portland, had a career-high 24 points and 15 rebounds in a win against the Milwaukee Bucks on January 19. ; If he'd been able to average 36 minutes per game his PER would have been 14.8 pts, 11.6 rbs, and 1.9 bks. ; The season also had its low points for Oden. ; Not only did he have trouble staying in games due to foul trouble, ( his PER for fouls if he'd averaged 36 min was 6.5) he had physical problems as well and suffered an injury to his foot during his first game against the Lakers, and fractured his kneecap in February during a collision with Corey Magette and missed three weeks. ;

The Answer will come soon or not

Allen Iverson is expected to make his decision on the Memphis Grizzlies today. ; Management says it is anyone's guess what that decision will be, saying there is a "50-50" chance he will choose the Grizzlies. ; His other likely destination is the Charlotte Bobcats. ; He famously feuded with their new coach Larry Brown when the pair was in Philadelphia. ; However, both he and Brown are open to a reunion. ; The fact that he has experience with that system and that team has a better chance of making the playoffs in the East than the Grizzlies do in the West makes me believe he may be leaning more in that direction, but he has had nothing but good things to say about Memphis. ; All the Grizzlies can do is wait and see what happens.

Is there a heated rivalry between the San Antonio Spurs and LA Lakers on the horizon

The spurs and lakers have done just about everything possible to put themselves in a position to win a championship. Both teams added some key players and odds are that the western conference will come down to ;these two teams!

How is Ron Artest going to fit into the lakers rotation and get his shots? ;I know that he's going to bring a toughness to the lakers that they haven't had in recent years, but will he have a positive impact on the team? I'm sure Phil Jackson will do a good job of ;managing player issues. The spurs on the other hand, are back in the discussion with their offseason moves. It will be interesting to watch the lakers and spurs play during the regular season. They ;will meet ; four ;times and these games will all ;be statement games. The fact that the L.A. Lakers are the current NBA champs means that the San Antonio Spurs might have ;a little something to prove! ; ; ; ; ;
